User generated content is all the rage now for businesses. And you’ve probably seen bigger brands having so much user generated content all throughout their social media. You know how fruitful user generated content can be for your business.
But the biggest question is “How do I get UGC if I don’t have many customers?”. You’re new and are still building your customer base. So, how do you get those UGC?
In this blog post, I’ve talked about the various ways you can create UGC. I’ve divided these different ways into two categories– one which will get you fast results and the other that is great for the long run but won’t get you results immediately.
No customers, short on budget and fast results – all these problems can be solved with UGC created with AI or AIGC.
This is where tools and services like Heygen and AdsEther can help you create UGC. It does a great job of bridging the gap, at least temporarily. You can even D-I-Y this step and create sample testimonials, product visuals, and reviews. Refer to this guide here.
Your first UGC creators might be closer than you think. Friends, family or even colleagues can be your initial content generators. You can offer them free samples to try out and leave reviews on those.
One tip to remember here, is that you should provide clear guidelines on the kind of content you want. Decide on whether you want video reviews, written testimonials or an Instagram post.
Professional UGC creators are very different from influencers. And we have a post you can read about here. UGC creators specialize in creating content that look like genuine customer posts.
They typically don’t have a large following. You can reach out to UGC creators on Fiverr, Upwork and even on social media.
This is an alternative to generating UGC using AI. By just using your smartphone, you can shoot and edit your own UGC-style videos that show your products in use.
This step is similar to working with UGC creators but here you’re working with influencers. Nano and micro-influencers do not have a lot of followers but they have a pretty engaged audience and also they charge less for product promotions.
These small-scale content creators can provide you with incredibly genuine content that’ll resonate with your customers.
Community building is a long-term UGC strategy. It can take years to get results from this approach. So, prepare for the long haul. Some steps you can take to start building a community are – starting conversations on social media and forums like Quora and Reddit.
Answer common questions and actively participate in conversations. Be a part of trends that are popular among your target audience.
Everyone loves to win contests. So, giveaways work amazingly well if done correctly. Giving away a free product to a single or multiple winners in exchange for shares and follows is the most common way.
Also, asking the winners to post an image or video of the product in their social media using your company hashtag works wonderfully. You get an authentic UGC for your business.
Don’t let a small customer base discourage you from leveraging UGC. Choose one of the methods mentioned above and start. With creativity and strategic thinking, you can generate authentic and engaging content that resonates with your target audience.
